Twilight Baby

The day closes up
Behind the sheets of rain
Visible through the window pane

Light fades before the earth
Replaced by the shroud of dark

These sublime minutes
When the sun makes its exit
And brother moon takes the seat

It is within these short moments
-- Of Twilight
That I find to be the loneliest
Yet most beautiful
Part of my day

Standin' at my terrace I can see the Ortigas and Makati skyline...It's a perpetual twilight I tell you!..All smoooky blech black!...

And if you're seeing a pretty twilight..then honey...you're lucky eh!..Haven't seen, watched or felt any twilight in a loooong time...geek gawd noooo..The only twilight I'm havin' is a twilight of the mind for trying to satisfy a clients irk'...Why I've changed my training materials ten times for em',,snooks...

But your poem is uuuuh' lah' lah soooo sweet heart rendering beautiful..makes me wanna' croon...

inspires me to publish me own meandering and scratching about separate islands that were meant to be together but.something happens ( volcano eruption probably) and now the islands are separate and only the kissing waves now know that both exist...maybe next post...

Gotta' get back to my cooking...smoked bangus...

have a great wicked weekend!..But be good!!..wink!

Wow... words of appreciation from the princess herself... Thanx.

Of loneliness, well.. all i can say is that, we all experience it in our lives... Mayb it helps us appreciate wat we have and what an important role our friends play in our lives.

After all, who knows better the value of sight than a blind man who regains his sight.

I'm a fan of twilight myself. It's a beautiful time of day, at least around here (NYC-USA), full of activity but not awash in the sun's glare.

Nice poem (as always) but isn't the moon the feminine?
"Brother Sun, Sister Moon"?

It seems like a contradiction doesn't it? Lonely yet beautiful... but then again, certain rather painful things can be beautiful too.

I loved this poem! It is short but it projects such meaning within the space of a few lines. Lovely!

Lovely.... Those few minutes where time seems to pause and day and night are one. In sense it is lonely, on the other hand you can look at it as joining twins that were separated at birth.
