The day closes up
Behind the sheets of rain
Visible through the window pane
Light fades before the earth
Replaced by the shroud of dark
These sublime minutes
When the sun makes its exit
And brother moon takes the seat
It is within these short moments
-- Of Twilight
That I find to be the loneliest
Yet most beautiful
Part of my day
Standin' at my terrace I can see the Ortigas and Makati skyline...It's a perpetual twilight I tell you!..All smoooky blech black!...

Wow... words of appreciation from the princess herself... Thanx.
ReplyDeleteOf loneliness, well.. all i can say is that, we all experience it in our lives... Mayb it helps us appreciate wat we have and what an important role our friends play in our lives.
After all, who knows better the value of sight than a blind man who regains his sight.
I'm a fan of twilight myself. It's a beautiful time of day, at least around here (NYC-USA), full of activity but not awash in the sun's glare.
ReplyDeleteit's the in between time. i love the twilight and i also love the early morning hours (if i'm awake enough..lol)
ReplyDeleteNice poem (as always) but isn't the moon the feminine?
ReplyDelete"Brother Sun, Sister Moon"?
NICE POEM I WROTE ON ON MY BLOG TOO:D
ReplyDeleteGood one !
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a contradiction doesn't it? Lonely yet beautiful... but then again, certain rather painful things can be beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI loved this poem! It is short but it projects such meaning within the space of a few lines. Lovely!
Lovely.... Those few minutes where time seems to pause and day and night are one. In sense it is lonely, on the other hand you can look at it as joining twins that were separated at birth.
ReplyDeleteYour last stanza caught me!! awesome really :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem ....
ReplyDelete"lonely yet beautiful"

I think I would love to read more of your poetry :-)
The memories of a lifetime are often reflected within the space of summer day.
